UAE-based photographer SK Sohaib Athfaan takes photos of people and scenes in and around Dubai, showcasing the Emirate in a completely new light.
In the same vein as popular Instagram account-turned-book, Humans of New York, Athfaan seeks to share the raw and real side of Dubai and its residents.
Speaking to Stepfeed, the photographer explained the inspiration behind his art. "Dubai is such a busy place, one hardly gets time to reach out to people, let alone hear their stories and get a glimpse into moments of their lives," he said. "I aim to capture, a smile, a tear hidden in someone's eyes, or a surprising moment, and I believe that every photo I take is a part of the subject's life, a part of the person himself."
