Shoppers at an Abu Dhabi store were told all items that went through the cash register would be free for the next 30 minutes after a billionaire reportedly offered to pay as a charitable gesture during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Zakat is the third Pillar of Islam and requires people to give a portion of their wealth.
According to many posts on social media and several reporting news outlets, it all took place at Lulu Hypermarket in the United Arab Emirates' capital thanks to an unnamed 26-year-old.
