After watching La La Land, we wouldn't be surprised if you now have the urge to spend your evenings channeling Emma Stone and hitting up a jazz bar with your very own Ryan Gosling. And while we can't all head to LA for our fix of live music, many venues in Dubai are currently jumping on the trend and increasing their offerings. Every night of the week the JLT neighborhood venue has a different offering to enjoy alongside some Italian food and wine, including the Swing Revue band on Wednesday evenings. PizzaExpress recently revamped their food menu so customers can now enjoy dishes such as the thin crispy Romana pizza topped with lobster meat, baby broccoli, marinated yellow cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and lobster bisque sauce, finished with torn buffalo mozzarella, crème fraiche, black caviar, chives and lemon.
Q's
Quincy Jones' first ever jazz bar, Q's Bar and Lounge at Palazzo Versace Dubai, is currently providing smooth sounds from XRISS, a semi-finalist from 2012's The Voice: Ahla Sawt. The Lebanese singer belts out tunes Tuesdays to Saturdays from 9pm as guests enjoy the cocktail bar and New York and New Orleans-inspired bites. Neighboring restaurant, Enigma, offers a pre-show set menu dinner, costing AED140 for two courses or AED180 for three. Dishes include a posh twist on Shakshuka and Megan Shrimps for starters, 7 Spices Lamb Neck for mains and a Crunchy Hazelnut Parfait for dessert.
J&G Steakhouse
Each Friday evening from 6.30pm for the price of AED285, live music fans get a 3-course set menu - including and a tomato, sweet onion and blue cheese salad, NYC Striploin steak and fries, plus strawberry cheesecake – with a welcome martini at J&G Steakhouse.
Situated inside the St. Regis Hotel, you'll get a real NYC vibe as you listen to the Jazz Wave of New York duo.
The Jazz Room at Cavalli
If you prefer later nights out, each Wednesday and Thursday night from 12am to 3am, Abri & Radius Funk play in The Jazz Room at Cavalli, a secret soundproof room located within the main club.
