The Facebook page and Tumblr account Hijabis of New York celebrates hijabi women by giving them a platform on which to share their stories. Hijab-wearing women of every age post photos to the Facebook page along with a blurb about what wearing the hijab means to them. In recent weeks, the stories have turned particularly personal--and heartbreaking--as Islamophobia continues to increase in the US.
