When it comes to luxury and glamour, you wouldn't blame a girl for automatically thinking of Dubai. So it may not come as a surprise to some that a property developer who is based in the Emirate spent £220,000 (AED1million) on an elaborate wedding proposal. His fiancee is one lucky lady as part of that cost included £70,000 (AED320,500) on a celebrity appearance via video!
The man forked out a whopping £20,000 (AED91,500) on flowers alone, beginning the romantic event on a yacht in the Mediterranean before riding a helicopter to the cliffs of Monaco to pop the question in a luxury hotel. As if that wasn't enough scenery he added a live jazz band and noted every reason he loved her on an oak tree embellished with fairy lights.
The entire gig was set up by UK company The Proposers, founded by Daisy Amodio. She told the Independent newspaper that they went on to have dinner by a custom-made wishing well and were joined by friends and family afterwards.
It all sounds rather extravagant but they do offer less dramatic proposals and more importantly, less costly!
