This Lebanese Mughli is the Only Way to Eat Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  1. 2 c. sugar
  2. 1 c. ground rice
  3. 2 tbsp. ground cinnamon
  4. 1 tbsp. ground caraway
  5. 1 tbsp. ground anise
  6. 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  7. 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  8. 1/2 c. pine nuts
  9. 1/2 c. almonds
  10. 1/2 c. crushed walnuts
  11. 1/2 c. shredded coconut
  12. 1/4 c. pistachio

Directions

  1. Into a large pan, measure water and add sugar and ground rice.
  2. Cook over medium heat until blended.
  3. Add cinnamon, caraway, anise, ground ginger, and nutmeg.
  4. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture has the consistency of a pudding.
  5. Pour into a large serving dish and garnish with nuts and coconut.
  6. Refrigerate and serve cold.
