Never let anyone tell you to tone down on the shopping again … at least when it comes to spending at The Dubai Mall anyway.
The largest mall in the world has announced a partnership with Emirates which means the more you spend, the more air miles you earn. So if you regularly splash the cash there anyway, or are planning a retail therapy trip to the city to spend some serious dirham, you could earn yourself a free flight or upgrade in the process.
For every US dollar (approximately AED3.67) you spend on food, fashion, entertainment etc Silver, Gold and Platinum Emirates Skywards members will earn a mile. But Blue members will have to spend $2 (approximately AED7.34) to get the same. There's a limit though; Blue and Silver members have a cap of 5,000 miles each month and Gold and Platinum can earn 10,000. All you have to do is scan your receipts valued at a minimum of AED100 into The Dubai Mall app within 14 days of purchase to be credited. The process should take no more than a day unless it's for more than $1,000 (approximately AED3,672) in which case it could take longer.
We're hoping the partnership with Emaar Malls rolls out beyond The Dubai Mall but for now we'll be hitting up Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, Dubai Ice Rink and Reel Cinemas every weekend.
