These Emirates Employees Were Awarded For Their Heroic Acts in Life-Threatening Moments

If you ever need a reminder of just how important a job airline staff have, let this be one. Emirates employees were recently honored at an awards ceremony thanks to some acts that literally saved lives or went above and beyond to helped loved ones deal with tragedy.

It all took place at the aptly named Najm Chairman's Awards ("najm" means "star" in Arabic) inside the Emirates' Group Headquarters as co-workers and loved ones of those shining examples being recognized watched on.

The 11th annual edition saw 70 employees celebrated for their achievements but the following really stood out.

Gavin Keyes, a Ramp Agent for dnata International-Australia, prevented a potential crash on the ground that could have left employees injured and an aircraft damaged when a cone fell on a vehicle accelerator. He managed to get people out fo the way, jump on board an jam the breaks before steering it out of the way of aircraft engine in front.

Cabin crew member Eissam Mostafa Mohamed Ouf, noticed a choking baby on board when he managed to dislodged the object and help the child regain consciousness.

Similarly, Fadila Bachiri, Department Officer, dnata Airport Operations managed to remove some candy a man was choking on in the airport lounge. Her persistence proved meaningful as she tried five times while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

Khadija Arsanova, Customer Service Manager, dnata Travel Services helped the loved ones of Emirates Holiday customers who were victims in a tragic safari and buggy ride accident with an outside company. She was awarded for being a constant support and going beyond the call of duty.
