The Dubai Marina community came together on Wednesday after a blaze broke out in the Sulafa tower block at 2.48pm according to The National. Flaming debris could be seen dropping from balcony to balcony, the windy conditions helping the fire spread rapidly.

After hearing that residents in the tower had been evacuated, a nearby hotel offered refuge to those who had been affected by the events. "To anyone affected by the #Sulafa tower fire, we are opening up The Westin ballroom should you need temporary shelter and refreshments," The Westin Mina Seyahi tweeted.

The hotel isn't the only local business to show compassion for those who live in one of the 700 apartments. Careem tweeted: "Stay safe! Our Captains are on alert and close by. Free rides for everyone getting out of #DubaiMarina #Sulafa."

Even individuals were offering up what they have to help out. Leonie Pitts tweeted: "I can smell it from The Lakes. We have a spare room if anyone in need for the night? #sulafa."

At 285m, Sulafa is the 23rd tallest building in the Emirate and 127th highest in the world. Dubai Civil Defence claims the inferno started on the 35th floor and the Dubai Media Office has reported no casualties.

In 2012, Sulafa experienced another fire which began on the 36th floor. It also might bring back horrifying memories to those living in the nearby Torch Tower, which suffered major structural damage in early 2015. To this day the building has not been repair to its original look.
