The Year of Zayed kicked off on January 1, and a Guinness World Record-breaking laser light show ushered in the momentous year.
A number of other initiatives have been unveiled over the past week, including limited edition NOL Cards, a special Year of Zayed license plate, and a memorial set to be built in Abu Dhabi.
Now, Dubai Cares and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority have teamed up to launch a city-wide scavenger hunt to honor the life and legacy of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The hunt asks participants to uncover 15 hidden "light bulbs" that have been scattered across Dubai, each which represents the idea that "knowledge is a light that never fades."

Each piece embodies one of the following themes: "ambition, commitment, courage, creativity, giving, gratitude, happiness, innovation, kindness, leadership, opportunity, tolerance, peace, resilience and trust."
The light bulbs are up now around the city, and you can participate by downloading the Dubai Cares app. Once you get the app, you'll be able to read the 15 different challenges, unlocking each with the help of three clues.
Once you figure out the location of the bulb, you can head to the location and scan the QR code on the bulb.
Each clue you unlock earns you one point.
According to Khaleej Times, the winners will receive the below.
"The first participant to solve all the 15 challenges and complete the 'hunt' will have the chance to win an opportunity to volunteer abroad with Dubai Cares (Volunteer Globally), one annual day pass for Dubai Parks & Resorts and a 2 night-stay for two at the Versace Hotel.
"The second participant to complete the 'hunt' will have the chance to win an opportunity for 5 volunteers to participate in an edition of Volunteer Emirates 2018, one annual day pass for Dubai Parks & Resorts and a Dubai Mall voucher worth AED3,000.
"The third participant to complete the 'hunt' will have the chance to win an opportunity for 5 volunteers to participate in an edition of Volunteer Emirates 2018, one annual day pass for Dubai Parks & Resorts and a Dubai Mall voucher worth AED2,000. The top three winners will also be awarded a Sensasia spa voucher."
