It might be your worst nightmare when you've got places to go and things to do but when it comes down to it, flight delays are inevitable. Still, passengers on a recent Kuwait Airlines flight were furious when their aircraft was stuck for hours on the runway.
It all kicked off when a China Southern clipped the wing of the Middle Eastern plane as it was parked on the runway at New York's JFK airport. No crew or passengers were harmed (the Chinese jet had no people on it at the time) but it meant waiting time soared.
"On the tarmac for almost 4 hours on @KuwaitAirways and no food or drinks have been given...isn't this a violation of tarmac delay rules?" Taylor Chan Tweeted.
Others desperately Tweeted to get a response from the airline, leading to passengers and those waiting for loved ones on the flight to band together and share information.
The airport had already been experiencing delays due to extreme winter weather in the area. According to NBC, the chaos resulted in a backlog, ultimately causing fights to break out in the terminal and complaints aplenty via social media.
See what people had to say below.
been stuck in the plane for > 4hrs @JFKairport tarmac. Older people, kids in here, passengers with full capacity. Crew saying possibility of another 3hrs. Horrific! Will someone allow us to get out and move on with our lives? @KuwaitAirways#KU117@AirTrafficLive@NYCAviation
