Whether sunning yourself on JBR or plunging from a plane at Skydive Dubai, you've probably noticed the four-legged frame situated on Bluewater Island. But soon the structure will be part of the biggest Ferris Wheel in the world - surpassing the London Eye and Las Vegas' High Roller.

At a 250m circumference and between 260m-262m high, the Dubai Eye is expected to show visitors and residents the Emirates like they've never seen it before. Surrounding it there will be a plaza with dining and retail destinations, plus four entertainment attractions that people can enjoy on a day out. If you want to make the trip an overnighter, there will be a choice of two hotels to stay at.

It's explained there will be a 4D cinema screening before the ride which features facts about the great city. Following the short film, one of two escalators lead guests to the platform where the 48-minute ride awaits. The cool attraction will have 48 spacious pods which hold 1,400 people in total, and show off sights including the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab and Palm Jumeirah.

Watch the clip for a drone's view of how it will feel to ride the wheel.
