Over the weekend, Saudi Arabia celebrated its 87th National Day. In the UAE, the country honored its neighbor with celebrations in the malls, and people with green scarves were seen celebrating the occasion.
In KSA, buildings were lit in Saudi-flag green, firework displays lit the sky, and, most notably, women were allowed to enter the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh for the first time ever.
Families watched concerts and other performances, and, according to Reuters, the festivities were "part of a government move to boost national pride and improve quality of life for Saudis."
